There should be a mechanic where you can control how far the sculk sensor can detect vibrations. The way you can do this is by right-clicking the sculk sensor, doing this will also remove one antenna from the sensor, indicating that the vibration detection radius has been decreased. For example, if you right click the sensor, instead of detecting vibrations 8 blocks far (4 antennas), it will now become 6 blocks (3 antennas) . When you right-click it again, it will adjust to 4 blocks (2 antennas), right-click it again and now it would be 2 blocks (1 antenna). 2 blocks would be the minimum and 8 blocks is the maximum. To bring back the sculk sensor to its default state (4 antennas), just right-click it when it only has 1 antenna left. There can be no 0 antennas as it would have no purpose (obviously). This is like adjusting the ticks of a redstone repeater but it's the sculk sensor and vibrations! It will be very useful for redstone players!
