A mob to make elytra renewable

I suggest a new end-related mob, the Enderbeetle.

For an Enderbeetle to be created,

First there has to be an endermite. The endermite is struck by lightning. The endermite makes a mob-head size cucoon around itself. a few days later, it hatches into an enderbeetle.

What an Enderbeetle does is,

It is a hostile mob, with 30 hp and 5-6 damage per hit.  if a target is more than 10-20 blocks away, it starts flying to them. otherwise it runs at them. to attack, it rams you and you take large amounts of knockback. 

It looks like a rhinoceros beetle, but with some purple.

When defeated, it will drop up to 8 xp, and it has a 25% chance to drop an elytra. these will also rarely spawn on the outer islands.

    I like the idea of an endermite turning into these as well as the fact that they are not naturally spawning, but I don't think the bug should be created with lightning, mainly because the only way to get lightning in the End is through the Channeling enchantment. Perhaps they have to be hit by a shulker bullet?

    IRL, elytra are not the wings of beetles, just the hard part that covers their real wings. Because of this, the Enderbeetle should have the elytra open but then have 2D transparent wings pop out which flap rapidly which allow them to actually fly instead of just glide

    As elytra are the hard coverings for wings, they should act like armor to the Enderbeetles, possibly making them impervious to arrows like shulkers when they are closed, but also making it so they can't fly or move at all. They can be hit with arrows when the elytra are open, but the elytra on their backs may also get damaged, rendering it useless

    People have been wanting elytra to be added on top of armor, but as it is a hard covering for wings it could be made to be a type of armor itself. It could make it so the players back is impervious to arrows when closed. Turtle Shells could also be placed on the chestplate to do the same

    As endermites are like the end-version of silverfish, they could infest Shulkers and then transform their shell into the elytra. They could also leave the shulker shell as an empty shulker box and fly away, but I am not sure about that.

    One idea I had was that you could shear the wings off of them making them unable to fly, but that seems a bit too easy to farm. More likely, I think they should just have a rare chance to drop them. Either way, they should always drop a damaged elytra.

    yeah, I just forgot to mention that part (about the armour)  and also, I like the idea of getting hit by a shulker bullet, but I feel like that would kill it...

    also, when the elytra are closed, it should still be able to charge at you, and it would only bounce off arrows that hit the elytra. also, if this sheilding mechanic is added, I feel like it's protection should extend to the player.

    I forgot to mention in the post that the beetle has a chance to drop a piece of 'exoskeleton armour', which is between iron and diamond strength, but it has a high level of armour toughness.
