Feathers are useless, let's fix that

So, I think feathers are possibly the second most useless item in Minecraft, behind poisonous potatoes. They are used in the early game to craft arrows and even then, you could get a skeleton farm and get arrows that way. Once you get infinity, they become completely useless. I think that feathers should have a new purpose, maybe they can be used to craft boots off swiftness (Yes the same thing as Minecraft dungeons). They could be made of leather coated iron boots with feathers at either end. They can give you a speed boost on hitting 'k' for ten seconds, a cooldown of twenty seconds will be provided. To make them not to overpowered, they give only they protection of gold boots with the durability of iron ones. They make a nice supplement to three otherwise useless feather. Another idea is to add a budget elytra of sorts. They can be used as just a glider with no directional controls and no fireworks boost. They can, however, glide for longer distances than an elytra does. They could be made by leather and feathers in a w pattern.

    Feathers in real life are also good for their fluffy down, which is a decent heat insulator.
