Axolotls shed their skin and drop it to be used for boots

When an axolotl grows up, they drop their scales. These can be used to make axolotl scale boots, which give the user regeneration if they are underwater. These scales can only be dropped from axolotls bred from tamed ones. to

    Maybe the little horn-thingies can be sheared off and used as a potion ingredient. They would then grow them back

    But axolotls are afimbians, they don't have scales, they have a smooth skin like salamanders have
