The way to end the phantom issue, without ending phantoms.
I propose that every thousand blocks or so (# can totally change) there will be a "nest" in a cave on a mountain, or on a mountain (can be somewhere else). This nest will "spawn" phantoms at night that will patrol the area that they are assigned. They will do normal phantom stuff, like kill players, and before the sun rises, they will go back to their nest. The idea is that a player can go find a nest and do something to stop the phantoms from spawning in the area. I think it would be an adventure for early game, but not an annoying task in later game when you have an elytra and stuff.
I don't know exactly what will be the "nest". I want it to be a naturally generated nest that it pretty big, like 5 blocks wide, and is made of like wood, hay, and leaves. It could have just a spawner in the middle, or it could be some new "mega spawner" that you could somehow put mobs into to make giant farms, I don't know. It might just be nice to farm phantom membranes before you get mending. I would like some sort of mega phantom, or a "mother phantom" that guards the nest. It could just be a big phantom, or a new mob with new abilities, and maybe a new drop. I think it would be like a "mini boss", as in it is weaker than a Wither, but stronger than a ravager.
Any specific details can be changed, but I think the general idea is interesting. I hoped you liked it. I think it could fit in with the Caves and Cliffs update.
