So now that we have crystals (and a spyglass), here's how we can utilize those amethyst shards in a new way.
An hourglass could be used as a way to measure time (as a tool or block or in the item frame - turning on when rotated upside down!), as a pulse extender/ delayer and an easy way to get more accurate timings in redstone contraptions.
An hourglass, when turned on, would measure time depending on how much sand is in it (up to few stacks), or just 64 ticks by default - it's up to you - then flip.
It could work similiar to a boundle if it was a tool - you'd be able to put a certain ammount of sand in it (up to a stack) or like a dispenser if it was a block.
The idea with having a certain ammount of time is just so much better - just think about how many things we could do with it!
-using a comparator would output a signal based of how much sand is left in the hourglass
-if in the inventory, it would be turned on just by using it (if it was a tool)
-if you'd go with a block, then we activate it by right click (like a lever) or/and by receiving a redstone signal
-you can also make it a tool and the measuring stuff can be utilised by item frames and us rotating the hourglass manually or having redstone signal rotating it for us to automate the process
- redstone signal when it's working would reset it
-things like races, or other time based activities would be measured by those
-those precise pulse extenders in redstone contraptions!
-also just role playing with it would be so much fun
