Use Glowstone dust as Wayfinder

Hi, I had the idea, that you could use Glowstone dust to place it on all six sides of a block, wich emmits a low-level light. This would be useful, so that you can easily find your way without wasting lanterns. This would be useful for the nether, because if you get trapped, It would be hard to find your way, if you don't have lanterns.
