Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Lockable Chests

A way to lock chests (and maybe doors, trap doors, shulkers, and pretty much anything else that opens) would be a big plus in my opinion. Almost everyone who plays minecraft at one point or another has played with a less than desirable person, who enjoys stealing other's stuff. If chests and others were to be able to be locked, that would cut down on that significantly.

    i like this idea, but people could siphon your stuff with hoppers or just break/bomb the chests or mine around the door. the fact is that this would be really difficult to make work, but would certainly be beneficial. fwiw, a lock nbt tag does already exist for containers, but they can still easily be broken

    Chains could simply be wrapped around chests and doors. Not only would it make it so the chests can't be opened, but it makes it difficult to mine the blocks

    the chest could also have chains surrounding it as armor to protect it from potential destruction such as explosions. the breaking time could also take a long time because of the chain.
