Parity means making features behave consistently across different Minecraft editions, most commonly between Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. Add Bedrock style snow accumulation to Java.

In Java snow will only accumulate naturally to the lowest snow layer however this is not the case in all versions. In Bedrock, over time snow will accumulate, this is sadly lacking in the Java Edition. Much like copper, it would allow for the Minecraft world to change in minute ways over time, making every second you've invested in that world even more meaningful. This would vastly improve the gameplay experience for all players within mountains and other snowy environments. This has been shown to be a successful and well-received feature within the Bedrock community, and though I don't know definitively the ease at which it could be added, given the all of the component pieces already exist and the only thing left is the actual accumulation, it should be a relatively small addition with wide-reaching positive effects.

    I would Love to see my mountain base slowly accumulate, I also think there should be a gamerule to set it off and on. Thanks for reading this, Let Minecraft accumulate in love!

    It's been a feature that I was wondering would ever get add, since I learned that you could get layered snow back in 2011.

    They've had a snow level data value for Java MC snow since beta, but never implemented the snow accumulation feature.
