So, I suggest a class system for minecraft, and these can be learned from the various humanoid entities in minecraft. I'm going to start with how it works for the villagers. so, If you go into a village, and you get maximum popularity, (you should also be able to gain popularity if you kill a monster in front of a villager) what you can do is go up to a villager and instead of straight trading with them, you sneak and then trade (like how armour stands pose), and you start learning their profession. how this works is the villager gives you some crafting materials, then he shows you the item to be crafted (relating to the profession). if you craft the item, then give it to the villager, then he accepts. this happens around 9 more times, then some green particles appear around the villager, then around you, then you have learned their profession/class! if you know their class, you can craft some items that you would normally only get from the villagers (chain armour, xp potions), and other recipes become cheaper. (as in if you become a stonemason, you get more stone bricks when you craft them) Or if you became a farmer, then you would get slightly more crops when you harvest.
To be continued in part 2, where we get to the illagers!
