I often see people mob proofing to improve mob spawning rates in their farm or just to protect their houses. But mob proofing is such a repetitive task, and doing it on large scales like for mob farms is grueling.
I see people adding in methods with mods such as a super torch or stuff that lights or fills caves for you. I think you know where I'm going with this. Currently, the tinted glass block not letting light or the beacon beam through is fine, and I want to keep it that way. But I was hoping for a magical use for crystals. I thought that the tinted glass pane could prevent light through and beacon beams through from above and below, or even let it through from a side if it isn't connected to another block on one of it's sides.
Beacon beams that shine through a tinted glass pane could have their properties changed so you get the additional effect of stopping hostile mob spawning in the range of the beacon. Given that caves are going to be significantly larger and probably tougher to light up, even with the new light sources, This could be a nice way to make mob proofing on a large scale easier for players.
Technical players could benefit a lot from it, and even average players could. It's still a late game item, and getting a large number of these beacons would be a huge investment. But for the people that take the time to make the farms this should be another nice reward.
