Pistons pushing hoppers (bedrock parity)

Imagine being able to push hoppers, I have run into the problem on java so many times about needing to be able to push hoppers. I was recently making a vending machine, I wanted to make it so that if it is out of stock it gives you the money that isn't used for items when it becomes out of stock back but i needed to push hoppers in order to do that.
I know there may be other ways to do that but i don't want to use an entire chunk of redstone just give money back.
