I think there should be more artifact than glass shards and villager gems. Maybe something from real history, or from certain cultures. My idea is that if you go to an archeology ruins (or whatever it was called) in a certain biome, you can get different artifacts from history (a hat and a weapon). If you go in a snow biome, you can find a Viking shield, or a spangenhelm. In oak forest, you can find Indian bows, or war bonnets. In desserts? Khopesh and nemes. It would add a little more history to Minecraft. Maybe they could be different types of ruins?
