1.17 Glow dust

Glow dust is an item that can be obtained by killing the glow squid and you can make glow blocks, stairs, slabs and some other blocks like glow grass, glowsshrooms, glow glass, and the block will only light up when a player or mob is near the block, let me know some other glow like blocks in the comments below.

  I agree with Benjamin Cooper, but I do think it would be cool to have proximity-affected lighting
