Faster ways to get Copper Stairs needed!

I've calculated that 4 Copper Stairs require 54 Copper Ore. At first it doesn't sound too bad. But when you realize that 1080 copper ore is needed to get just 80 copper stairs... It starts to sound pretty expensive. This needs to be fixed. Thank you for your time!
