Slate layer in snowy biomes

Slate would be a new stone type that would replace all andesite and most stone blocks in snowy biomes from y levels 75-35. The texture would look very similar to upside-down grey ancient debris. It has a blast resistance similar to stone but a mining time half of stone’s mining time. In this stone variant, you can find a new ore called onyx. Onyx would be a semi-rare crystal ore that would spawn in veins of 3-7. It can spawn in stone, slate, diorite, and granite. You can make tools and armor with this. The armor and tools have the durability of stone but the mining speed/armor points/attack damage as iron. It can be used to mine diamonds. This is just one of my ideas and I love what’s been done so far!!!

  I would like to see slate in Minecraft. However, it should not replace andesite, it should instead be another stone variant similar to it, or be the primary wall block instead of stone in a new cave biome, maybe a, icy cave biome. As for Onyx, it would do better to serve ass another geode type, being as it is a quartz variant just like amethyst, citrine, jasper, chalcedony, and others.
