Granite quartz ore

With the cave and cliffs update approaching soon, now would be a good time to consider a few new ore types, so I came up with a form of quartz that spawns in the overworld, but in a unique way that would set it apart from other ores. Quartz is one of the most abundant minerals on earth, so it's bizarre that in Minecraft you can only find it by traveling to another dimension, and quartz is also one of the primary components in granite, so maybe overworld quartz ore would only spawn in pockets of granite, having a granite base texture instead of stone like other ores, so when mining, builders might be tempted to mine out granite pockets they find to get their hands on some early game quartz. This method would still leave nether quartz ore relevant, as it would be much easier to find than granite quartz, but it would also give players a way of mining quartz without having to set up a nether portal, and as a bonus, early players could get a quick XP boost, as mining quartz is one of the quickest ways of leveling up

I like that you have supported with evidence from in-game. As a redstoner, this would really help since observers, a necessary component, are made of quartz, so this would make obtaining it easier.
