More Metal stairs and slabs for 1.17

We have stairs mainly from wood and stone types(if prismarine is a stone type) but we got copper stairs and slabs now and to my knowledge copper is a metal so shouldn't we get iron,gold, emerald and diamond stairs and slabs too but I don't think diamond and emerald are metals (netherite if possible) this will give builders more range for metallic builds

    We already have 47 slabs. I think we're fine.

    Yes! And the existing metal blocks should also get some more panel-like variants like the copper as well as cut variants.

    Diamond and emerald shouldn't get stairs and slabs because it wouldn't make sense. I agree that gold and iron should get stair and slab.
    Since gold is a soft metal and iron is used regularly irl for stairs

    Untilled Soil there sort of already was one, in Village and Pillage, they added 16 new types of slabs and 14 types of stairs. Isn't that enough?

    I disagree with the idea that just because there are some walls (or slabs), we can't have anymore. I think that builders such as myself find inspiration from the opportunities given by as many new and interesting blocks as possible, particularly slabs, walls and stairs which allow the block to be utilised in all kinds of manners. For this reason, I think there is always a good principle to put in these stairs etc. that correspond to blocks.

    Furthermore, I don't think it's fair to give the comparison to 1.14, as this mainly expanded stone variants, which has a completely different set of colours and textures to the stone slabs (which already need expanding on, but that's a different topic).

    I mostly agree, but maybe there should be decorative variants of these blocks (that require 4 ingots instead of 9), and those variants have slabs, stairs, etc.

    I have always wanted to build Erebor from The Hobbit in Minecraft, so gold stairs and slabs would be very useful.
