Caves and Cliffs Update Idea: Sporeder

They spawn in caves rarely, but spawn more often in Lush Caves. A Sporeder looks like a normal spider, but with certain changes:

  • Their eyes don't glow
  • They have mushrooms growing out of their bodies

Sporeders are stronger then their normal versions, and are aggressive to players and Spiders. Spiders will try to run away from these mobs. When a Sporeder kills a Spider, they convert it to another Sporeder.

They drop String(rarely), Spider eyes, and Mushrooms.

Sporeders should be added to Minecraft as there is barely any use for the Bane of Arthropods enchantment. Spiders themselves have not received any major changes since 1.8.

    I like the lits hint towards the Cordyceps zombie fungus. That sounds like the kind of mob that needs a stylized name, like the mooshroom or the zoglin.

    Perhaps Mushropod? Mycopod? Or even Sporeder

    I feel like this is unique because it essentially duplicates by taking over another mob. One suggestion is that it should be abit rare to have balance and it can take over cave spiders too.

    The only problem is that they said no hostile mob are to spawn in the lush caves

    I don’t know what a sporedore is, but I guess it will be a great idea!
