Wear Elytra and Chestplate at the same time!

Make a separate slot for an elytra so you can wear an chestplate at the same time you wear an elytra!

    Look, the whole point of the elytra taking up the chestplate slot is because it is a trade-off, by having the ability to fly, you must give up the most important part of your armour repertoire

    I agree and if you find it so annoying then just have the elytra (or chest plate) in inventory for easy switch off.

    This has already been rejected in "Previously Considered Suggestions," where they said it was a NO.

    That's too OP. I have both Elytra and chestplate in my inventory. You should do so too if you need both.

    This is one of the things I'd love to see happen the most, and it makes me sad that it will never happen. I've seen everybody say that it's OP or a trade off everywhere this is posted, but in my opinion the trade off is completely pointless (especially when you can switch between them so easily) and I just don't understand how it's OP. I know the benefits of being able to wear both. 1) you'll look a lot cooler in full armor AND elytra. 2) it would feel much more rewarding and progressive to wear both. 3) it is less annoying to just wear them both than to have to switch between them. 4) You free up exactly 1 inventory slot.

    make the elytra an armor piece like a chestplate or make a crafting recipe to combine chestplates to elytras

    Everyone says "Its a trade off" and "you shouldn't have both at the same time", but I think that this would be VERY useful. I always want to wear my chestplate and elytra at the same time.

    Minecraft won't be adding this as it says in the Previously Considered Suggestions page.

    While I agree, Mojang will not be adding this.

    Maybe Mojang could add Diamond or Iron Elytras and they could act as armor and if that is too relative to the subject enough, they could just add the protection enchantment to Elytras to protect you.

    I don’t think they should add this, because elytra + netherite Chestplate is waaay to OP, the only way I can see this happening is if it was an EXTREMELY expensive enchantment.

    the main reason this should happen is... it just looks weird having armor everywhere besides your chest

    Saying that elytra and Chestplate is overpowered is pointless considering you get the elytra at the end of the game

    YES. Its not OP at all, why? Well first of all elytra aint that good, it lets you glide, big woop. You need fireworks to gain speed and altitude, there's the tradeoff yall are so desperate to say exists. Have a way to combine a chestplate and elytra or something. Yes, yes yes!
