Glow Squids would drop an item that can be crafted similar to Tinted Glass, but called Glinted Glass. However, this doesn’t mean coloured lighting. It would just be a great matching palette light source apart from candles to incorporate into builds - for example - people building in the new cave generation can create crystals out of glinted glass as decoration. Again, this doesn’t mean coloured lighting, just block lighting in which the block has a coloured transparent texture.
In addition, this gives a use to the glow squid beyond just being a mob retexture in addition to any ideas Mojang has for it - and overall fits the Caves and Cliffs update extremely well!
