Amethyst 'Bud Spreading'

Bud spreading would be a mechanic were by some means you could turn a block of amethyst that is next to a budding amethyst, into a budding amethyst.

With this you could make neat little lines in your amethyst farms, or if you make the geodes rarer and you really wand to, you could travel many hundreds of blocks through the overworld in order to get the amethyst farm into your base.

  Because Mojang wants the Amethyst Geodes to be the only source of Amethyst Crystals, I was thinking that normal Amethyst Blocks could turn into Budding Amethyst if they are within the Geode structure and if there aren't other Budding Amethyst nearby

  Amethyst Crystals if not harvested could eventually become Amethyst Blocks, allowing Geodes to be self regenerating. At the very least I would like Dripstone to act this way, where water would cause it to grow and eventually become a block
