I don't know. Someone trying to age their copper might accidentally wax it while holding honeycomb. I think waxing in crafting table is a good check to this.

i like this idea, then you wouldn't need to mine out of a building a copper block to wax it once it has reached the state you want

Who in their right mind would just be holding honeycomb? There’s no reason to.

Yes but someone could grief you with honeycomb in realms and also it takes just about 2 seconds to put it in a crafting table.

This is a great idea because if you already built a structure that used copper, and you needed to wax it, you wouldn't have to destroy the entire building, and then wax the copper. I also feel that the waxing sound needs to be loud so that if someone accidentally waxed the copper, they'd know it, and be able to un-wax.

This is something that I hope to see so that I can build a copper structure and have the oxidation in different stages without having to prepare all the different blocks before hand.

why not instead of honey combs you let honey exist in cauldrons and dip a brush in the honey to wax the copper

it adds functionality to the cauldron and it would be more efficient the crafting while also taking longer making it balanced

Although this isn't a bad idea, it is much more time consuming to do when you have multiple block you have to wax. I mean, if you're tryna make a Copper House, the waxing of copper by right clicking would take a really long time, as opposed to waxing whole stacks in crafting tables/grids
