Polished Tuff/Calcite and stairs, slabs, and walls

The new geode blocks (Tuff and Calcite) should have polished variants, as well as stair, slab, and wall forms of both variants.

    I think that would be kind of a redundant addition, though. They only spawn in amethyst geodes. As such, collecting them in large quantities would be a tremendous effort, as compared to the universality of sandstone, quartz, diorite, netherbrick, etc. Also, tuff seems relatively similar in texture and color to blocks like andesite and polished prismarine, while calcite is similar to polished diorite and quartz. I do hope they do more with these blocks, though.

    To comment below there is plenty of Calcite and Tuff inside of geodoes Up to 550 calcite and 700 Tuff - this is plenty of blocks to decorate any build, i think stairs and slabs are needed to give them more usage.

    They could be rare building blocks that are expensive because of theirs rarity.

    I've been playing the snapshots and I really love calcite and tuff. To have starir variants etc. would just give so many more uses for Minecraft builders like myself, and it would mean builds using those blocks could have so much more detail.

    I often see lots of comments in posts like this about how adding more blocks is "redundant" merely because they're roughly the same colour. (I'm thinking diorite and quartz) I'd like to just say that calcite has a completely different texture to the other two blocks as diorite is more greyish and bitty and quartz has a slightly pinkish tinge, and for many builders who choose their blocks very carefully, this is a significant difference. I think this is another reason that merits these blocks as an addition to the game.

    Doubt polished variants will become a thing for tuff, perhaps a chisled version instead? Other than that, this is a great idea!

    This should be in the game. However, I think the current Calcite texture is a perfect texture for a Polished Calcite variant.

    Jonathan Ji Actually, Devs could make them less rare by adding more places where they will only generate. For example in this post :

    Now that tuff is very common around deepslate, I think it would make a lot of sense to give it a polished variant, especially since deepslate already has a ton of variants. It would be really nice to see a polished variant and stairs for smooth basalt, too.

    Please add these Mojang! Every stone type variant that doesnt make it into the game is a build that never got a chance to exist. Calcite is such a beautiful marble looking block. We dont have quartz walls, we could at least have calcite walls!

    I don’t think polished is needed as many blocks fill the role polished forms of these. Stairs however should be added

    I can aggree that Calcite could be used as like marble from the Chisel mod but tuff, tuff is more like gravel a bit more rocky stone its more posibble that they will add more Calcite variants ex.(Calcite slab/stairs, polished, bricks, pillar, chiseled)

    Now that tuff generates similarly to andesite, granite, and diorite, which all have polished versions, it seems weird that there isn’t a polished tuff block.

    Yeah, this would be amazing: now that they spawn similar to other geological stones too it would be good if we could get stuff made out of them. Especially as they are used in real life too. :)

    Calcite when polished makes a transparent crystal. Mojang should add these.
