The idea for this is kind of self explanatory. The armor (and maybe tools/weapons) you equip change the volume of noise made. For instance, leather armor would make little to no noise, so you would have to be closer to skulk sensors than otherwise, but iron armor wound ring like a bell, so you can be heard by skulk sensors from a larger distance. Maybe even make the noise made by armor audible to other players and mobs. This idea would make sense, since wearing leather boots I real life muffles your footsteps, and wearing iron boots would clank loudly. I think it would add another layer of realism to the game, and more strategy for the game in general. If this is added, the devs may even need to add a "padded" version of armor. But that's for another post.
