I would also like to find archaeological artifacts and loot when brushing sand near desert wells.

Doesn't even have to be caves if thats too much, something like a guaranteed geode, or a larger than usual pocket of ore would be awesome

yes! And the caves under desert well should be at least partially submerged.

I think this is a great idea! Since the azaleas are not going to be a new kind of tree, I think it is important to note that there is relatively little chance for them to spawn in desserts so if we can have a good indicator of lush caves in the form of the dessert well, that would be brilliant!

I agree, but caves in general aren't uncommon for it to need a structure to signify it. It should only be 1 cave type, & in my opinion lush caves don't fit. It would be a much better idea for it to signify dripstone caves, because 1: We already have a signifier for lush caves in normal biomes, but not for dripstone caves. 2: It fits with the lore of underground people once getting their water only from the dripstone, especially in the dry desert, & the water in the desert well is some of it.

I think this is a great idea. Every time I see one (in creative mode at least) I look under it.

Good idea, but instead of a desert cave, I think it should indicate a lush cave under a desert biome. I mean, it doesn't make much sense if you find an azalea tree in the middle of desert.
