Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Sittable Carpets/Cushions

Carpets can be crafted into cushions. (My initial thought was one carpet on top of one same-colour wool block, but it doesn't really matter what the recipe is) Cushions are exactly the same as carpets (or maybe have a minor texture change for clarity's sake) but can be sat on by right-clicking Currently functional chairs are limited by the need to incorporate a minecart or hidden pig. A cushion, on the other hand, can be incorporated into a huge variety of building styles and would let players be more creative with their interior decorating.

    Maybe even have decorative variants in addition to solid color cushions, kind of like how carpets on llamas get special patterns.

    Even more options that way, if builders just want to make their chairs sit-able without adding much just add a simple plain-color cushion, or if want to use a cushion for a extra fanciness and color then use a patterned cushion.
