    You can already detect if a minecart is empty. It's slower. So make a ramp that the minecart doesn't reach when it's empty, but does when someone is inside. It's like 1 powered rail at the bottom and like 4 or 5 blocks up. Used it a ton myself. Could move the powered rail a tile back if it's not perfect

    It could give off different redstone signals depending on what is in the minecart
