Seen some interesting ideas for Copper, personally, I don't see another weapon/armor set being too practical, or a typical toolset (pickaxe/shovel/hoe/axe). Copper does however give an opportunity for a bit of tech tree that isn't redstone related, which also means Copper will have to fill in gaps of player wants/needs that redstone doesn't do, which doesn't leave much but some potential.
-Movement of fluids, though this is only practical if water is no longer infinite, but can be replenished by make snow blocks to ice, and melting that. This would push for plumbing/aqueducts to be generated.
-Improved automation; Perhaps by using a loadstone, copper, to upgrade furnace and use standard fuel to generate electricity. (Inspired by other similar thoughts) This can be used for auto crafting, means to power new crop auto planters, auto animal feeds, and log/woodblock breakers. The fact its separation will require creative and careful overlapping to coordinate with Redstone parts a challenge for creativity. By easing up on resource management players will explore more. improving automation is a common mod to see for that reason.
--Scuba Tank, for all those underwater caves gives +5 secs per upgrade stops at 15secs, (3 upgrades iron, gold, diamond)
