I'm sure adding customizable animations and entitys stats with ressource packs are a very great idea.

First, it's possible to custom blocks stats with ressource packs in thousend different ways. When associated with custom textures, we get very single and original blocks forms. However, we can make a totally different texture of an entity from the original, the player recognize anyway the figure of the entity.
So what makes that blocks are so customizable and not entity?

Then, animations are so important in the game, like entities form and their textures, but cannot be modified too. If they could, we would have a real new vision/look of the same game, is it not what ressource packs creators search?

The ressource packs - in my opinion - are currently all the same/they all look alike. By adding custom animations and custom entities stats, we would get originals ressource packs and the final goal of a ressouce pack: Changing ressources of a game and keeping sames mechanics,

A new game, but the same game.

Optifine also adds support for custom GUIs and Custom skies along with CIT (custom item textures), I think it would be a great idea to implement this to bring more variety to resource packs.

This would honestly be one of the greatest changes for java edition, I don't understand exactly why bedrock get's this feature but Java players are left in the dust with vanilla customization. This would allow so much for the game. I already know this would spark a new interest in servers and user created maps. Servers can't rely on a userbase always using something like Optifine, I know several people who would love this to be apart of resourcepacks and data packs. Plugins use armorstands and it breaks no matter how good the server is ocassionally. Please Mojang, this would be a great feature for your playerbase.

I spend quite a bit of time making resource packs, but I use a different mod instead of optifine to boost performance. Unfortunately optifine is like the only thing that allows for CEM, and some of my packs from when I did use optifine don't work for me anymore because of this. But enough about that, what I am trying to say is that yes it would be amazing if Mojang added CEM to Minecraft without needing a mod like Optifine. This would be another step to inviting endless creativity to everybody.
