The devs said 1.17's bundles are only meant to solve the issue of having too much variety of items taking up inventory slots, but they acknowledged there are other inventory management issues such as just having way too much of one type of item (i.e. stone/cobblestone when mining). I think bundles could also be used to solve that problem with a minor tweak, which could be something that a player could optionally have via an enchantment.
So my idea is that you can enchant bundles with an enchantment called "Specialist" or something similar. A Specialist bundle will only be able to hold one type of item -- instead of mixing and matching like a regular bundle -- but can hold 3 or 4 stacks' worth of it. So it could hold, for instance, 192 or 256 cobblestone, 48 or 64 ender pearls, etc. Otherwise, it would work exactly like any other bundle.
This way two of the three types of inventory management issues they mentioned in the livestream could be solved with just the bundle, and having the enchantment or not would be a choice for different purposes rather than just a straight upgrade.
