Account Migration Cape Colors

Earlier today, on October 21st, 2020, Mojang announced that all accounts would be transitioning to Microsoft accounts. As a reward, all Java players will receive a free cape.

Many people have been playing Minecraft for over a decade now, and it would be nice to reward these long time players by giving them different capes based on when they bought the game. Each year, starting from Minecraft's official 1.0 release in 2011, could have its own unique cape color. Capes have always been appreciated for their rarity, and different colored capes based on how long someone has played would only add to their appeal and status.

In sum, players love capes. Giving the long time players colored capes gives them a new opportunity to express their dedication to the game, and it retains the status of capes as a special item.

    As I said above, capes are appreciated and valued for their rarity. If everyone gets the same cape, they won't feel as special as other capes. By giving people different cape colors based on when they started playing Minecraft, it gives people the opportunity to differentiate themselves and take pride in how long they have played the game.

    maybe each update should give you a cape I think it should start at 1.9 and if you were in the release of that version and newer you could select capes

    I like the idea and it does make a lot of sense, because otherwise everyone will have the same exact cape and it no longer feels special. This happened with bedrock edition when releasing that creator cape about a year ago, now no one uses it because everyone has it. The same thing will almost certainly happen with this one if there is no variety among different players’ capes.

    Capes can have rarity? Like the cape we will get for 2FA will be a common? I mean with the bedrock character creator, they have rarity.

    I fully support this, suggested capes:

    Alpha/Beta/Release 1.2/1.4/1.6/1.8/1.9/1.10 players (8 cape colors)
