So the way I would go about a "cherry oak tree" would be this. You don't have to add an entirely new wood in the game just a different variant of the oak tree, how about every oak tree has for example a 5% chance of being a cherry oak tree, a cherry oak tree would look the same as a normal oak tree except the leaves are red, and if you were to mine this tree, it would drop oak logs. I think this would be a great addition to Minecraft to just add some contrast and color into the sometimes repetitive looking forests, and it would add more variety to a garden, or landscaping build. I came across this idea when I tried to make my backyard from real life in Minecraft, the outer edge of my yard has trees with deep dark red leaves and so when I built my yard in the game I had to replace the leaves with nether wart blocks to get that red color.
This wouldn't be a massive thing to implement the game but would give variety, and to whoever reads this thank you for your time.
