crafting in minecraft is getting a little cluttered and sometimes it feels like more than 9 items should be required for specific objects now expanding the crafting table would feel really weird and confusing in game and it just doesn't feel vanilla to me. so the solution i have come up with is to have multiple items in one slot required to craft the item.
for example some thing the community has wanted for a while now is a quick way to make concrete in mass quantities which if crafting tables could behave in this way we could simply let the player surround a water bucket with 8 concrete in each slot which makes 64 concrete blocks with 64 concrete powder and one water bucket.
the possibilities with this new feature allows minecraft, data pack, and mod developers much more options when thinking of crafting recipes for there awesome new items
