China has these gorgeous mountains in Hunan dubbed the floating mountains. They are sandstone pillars that are shrouded in fog near the bottom which gives the illusion that the mountains are floating.
I think these could be a variant mountain that don't have snow on top, but are more like a lush oasis. There would be vines and maybe even Sakura trees with pink and white leaves and maybe a darker, almost black bark and a soft pink wood.
At the bottoms of these pillars are streams, rivers, and forests. In the biome I think there should be trees as it levels out and then water bridging the gap, almost like the swamp in formation.
The make-up of the pillars themselves is said to be a quartz-sandstone. It would be cool if we gained a new sandstone/quartz ore that had to be smelted but dropped shards of quartz crystal. It doesn't have to be nether quartz though as there are lots of quartz types in real life. Maybe its something with a shade of color
In real life this area has lots of trees all over, but I think it could generate a shrine like building that has bridges covering some of the gaps. The shrine would be a chinese style building, although very simple in structure, but be made of the sakura wood. This would generate as part of the village like the "church" but for this biome alone. Inside would be a large statue of an emerald made of wool/terracotta/concrete/old copper. Inside maybe there is a chest with a few saplings in it, plus maybe out front it grows 1 or 2.
