Cross platform in game chat

Please add a feature so I can talk to people on cross platform, I know it can be done since fortnite has it. Even if you make in game chat an option in the settings so it’s not on by default?

    I second this, my little brother and I would love to be able to play together but he has to bring his PS4 and TV into my room so we can have that communication so sadly we end up just playing Fortnite together instead.

    Why would you add crossplay without an option for gamechat? Kinda defeats the purpose doesn’t it?? I’ve been playing Minecraft for 3 days with my brother and I go to grab my mic so I can talk to his Xbox friends, (I’m on ps4) and there was no way to communicate, other than using the emojis or in game text. Why??? Fix this and I promise, you will have done right by so many players.

    defo needs to be done, my son asked me to play (i'm xbox and he is on playstation) even if we used a 3rd party chat channel, if his friends join he wont hear them or vice versa. its 2021, get it sorted minecraft

    Totally agreed, my daughter plays on Xbox but her friends play on Playstation, the ability for her to chat with her friends while playing would make her experience so much better.

    I agree. I stream with friends on a server made on Xbox. I play ps4. Currently I have to use my phone and host a discord voice chat and keep the phone near my mic to chat with everyone, but then we have people not playing also chatting. It gets super distracting when you're trying to focus on the game. Solving cross platform game chat in minecraft should have come before cross platform play.

    Agreed, in-game chat needs to be added. All cross-platform games should use in-game chat, so it's long overdue for Minecraft.

    I fail to understand how Minecraft can be as old and successful as it is, but not have an in game voice chat be available. Yes the type chat is nice and all, but now that crossplay is a thing, we cannot just use an Xbox or PlayStation party to chat with everyone in our world. This is baffling to be honest :(

    Yeah, this is a Bummer. It's 2022 there needs to be voice chat option for all cross-play games.

    i wanna be able to talk to my friend on xbox but i can't. i have to use my phone to be able to talk to him but my phone battery is horrbile it would be nice to have this feature for so many reasons but the main one is to be able to have more fun.

    It would honestly help the game and it's just a small task to add game chat for crossplay. If it's a sales thing, trust me, this will help the game sell.

    i dont know if you had a crossplay server but its through plugins not a part of minecraft vanilla server
