I think that in the new 1.17 update you should be able to craft a security camera. You should be able to craft 1 camera with a telescope in the middle of the crafting table and cobblestone surrounding it. You should also be able to craft 1 camera monitor with a camera in the middle, iron in the corners, and glass top middle, bottom middle, right middle, and left middle. You can place the camera down on walls and ceilings, then with the camera monitor left click the camera you want to add and it will go into space 1 of 9. You can change the name of the camera in the monitor and in your hand by renaming it in the anvil. The camera monitor has an interface that can be accessed by left clicking not on a camera. It has nine available slots for cameras and on every version you click on slot 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 or 9 with your mouse or buttons. Once you have clicked on the camera you will be able to see what the camera sees for as long as you like, press B or esc to exit the camera's vision. The camera monitor can be placed in an item frame and still have the inter face when you pull it up in-game. It should take up the full side of a block like a map does. There's my idea.
