Shoebill

The Shoebill is a tall, blue-gray, stork-like bird, it is critically endangered and it lives in the wetlands of Africa. It would make an excellent addition to the upcoming swamp update.

Some possible uses for a Shoebill are as follows:
- Upon maturing into adults and with a slight chance every time they're fed raw fish they will drop Shoebill feathers that can be used for a few possible things, upgrading your elytra, sails for boats to make them go faster, or maybe a block that is reduces fall damage slightly more than hay does

- Feeding them could temporarily make them loyal to the player helping them fight mobs or maybe helping them go fishing (by randomly pulling up fishing loot from nearby bodies of water)

- Feeding them could alternatively make them take flight and lead you to a new "biome", the fishing shoal which is an area with much better fishing loot and higher fish spawn rates, the shoebill would be the only way to locate these shoals

These are only a few possibilities, but I think the shoebill could be a very fun addition to minecraft

    Out of the three this on has the most information about the mob and is an endangered species so it could also bring irl awareness too love it and it's my favorite stork

    I know MOJANG mentioned the ostrich for the savannah biome. I am hopeful to have a nice bird in Minecraft in the next few years. The parrots are not only exceptionally rare, but may be perceived by some players as frustrating or annoying due to their mimicry behavior.

     

    I prefer they not add ostriches because ostriches run at a fast speed, enabling them to be avoidant of players. I want to be able to approach the bird. I perceive the shoebill as a soft personality bird and feel it'd be a good friend for me in the game. I want to be able to drop a fish for the shoebill and have the shoebill walk over to the fish and consume it.

    I also think of this when I found shoebill on fb reels
