Hi Mojang Developers and Creators -
I have had some ideas about how to improve the skulk sensor. The current way the skulk sensor is set up is limited to redstone creators, as it senses all sounds, and cannot be controlled. My ideas are as follows.
- Surrounding the skulk sensor in copper ore (a new ore coming to 1.17, for those of you that don't know) in the crafting table would create a "Directed Skulk Sensor." Right clicking the skulk sensor would result in a pop up like in a crafting table or beacon. From there you would be able to choose what sounds you wanted the the Directed skulk sensor to put a red stone output for. Like the beacon, this could cost an ore (maybe copper), like a beacon, to allow the new settings.
- For the graphics of the "Directed Skulk Sensor" I though it could be like a glistering skulk sensor (much like the glistening melons.)
- This would also be another use for copper, which only has three (as far as I know of) uses, which are the telescope, lightning rod, and the copper blocks.
These are currently the main ideas I have for revising the skulk sensor, And if I come up with any more, I will edit this post if possible, or create a new post. I feel that the skulk sensor is already a big deal to the redstone community, but with these revisions, I feel that this could be the biggest redstone update in the history of Minecraft. Please let me know if you take this input for the 1.17 update.
Sincerely,
