Technology update 2023.

We have all the necessary tools for technology. Gold iron and copper. Also they could add a new smelting method by combining iron and copper.

    Minecraft is mostly based off medieval times, so not sure that would work well.

    Minecraft isnt really based off medival they've just been trying to slowly grow up so we've been stuck in the midevial era for a while.

    I think it's supposed to be medieval (probably a bit before that, really) and stay that way. Mobs like the allay, vex, and ender dragon wouldn't really fit in a sci-fi environment, don't you think?
