When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

Copper pressure plate just makes sense tbh.

I'd like to see copper pressure plates as well, but I'd rather see them work like "medium-weighted" pressure plates. While iron and gold increase signal strength every 10 and 1 (respectively), copper pressure plates would increase signal strength every 5. All the same, I am intrigued by the idea of a player-only pressure plate.

I think they should make it so the more oxidized (green) the pressure plate  is, the longer it stays pressed after you're no longer standing on it.

It think it would be cool if, after they’re pressed, they wait a certain amount of ticks before creating a signal, effectively creating an easy and compact redstone clock.

copper pressure plate, surely should have signal strength affected by oxidation
them being used as player-only pressure plates seems to work as fine idea
they could also be bit different and that as reversed pressure plate, sending signal unless step on, to match other metal pressure plates, should be weighted or at least also register items, OR change behavior based on rust level, like not rusted be like reversed gold plate (more items makes signal weaker, by ratio gold plate increases it), more rusted as iron (same as golden, just lowering signal in ratio of iron plate), even more rusted as wooden (just binary, either is item/mob on it and it makes no signal or it is empty to emit signal), most rusted then as stone plate (dont detect items at all, only mobs), I know we can just use NOT gate for pressure plates but this could make circuits smaller and some things could benefit of it, and I think this would even use rusting mechanic in decent sense
of course, plates can be waxed or scraped, they would oxidase same as other copper blocks

The Copper Age update will come by September 30th, so I think Copper Pressure Plates and other Copper-adjacent stuff that have yet to exist may be considered in later updates/game drops.
