Ender Mantas

  • Ender Mantas: Peaceful, giant, flying ray-like creatures that roam the outer End Islands, and occasionally land to feed on Chorus Plants. They can be ridden by players to traverse to islands.
  • Ender Grass: Purple grass that grows on End Stone.
  • Manta Nests: Large pits made of Ender Grass where Mantas go to reproduce. Baby Mantas will stay here until they grow into adults.
  • Manta Dust: A gas released by baby Mantas when they become adults. Can be scooped into an empty bottle similar to Ender Dragon Breath. Manta Dust can be brewed into a Potion of Levitation.
  • Manta Pearl: Crafted with an Ender Pearl and Manta Dust. When thrown, Manta Pearls will fly in a straight line until they hit an object or entity. Ender Mantas will follow the direction that Ender Pearls are thrown, giving players a way to guide them even when not riding them.

A main theme of the End is flying/levitation; the Dragon, floating islands, End ships, Shulker Bullets, etc. I think the Ender Mantas and all that comes with them would fit perfectly with the flying theme, as well as add some more life into the End.

    I thought of the idea of these post-Enderdragon temples on the far reaches of the End called Obelisk. They're tall Obsidian towers that are guarded by Ender Mantas on the outside so you couldn't stack blocks up to the top where the treasure is without Ender Mantas knocking you off, you'd be forced to enter the Obelisk's Maze and Monsters. And at the top is where you get your first Elytra (instead of at the End Cities). So then you could fly from the top to the bottom and the Elytra is a real challenge to aquire
