Fossil Forests

Fossil Forests are a new type of forest found exclusively underground, similar to the recently announced lush caves.

Fossil forests spawn very rarely, deep underground in small rooms. They have a distinctive orange-grey hue.

Fossil forests are the only place where you can find fossilized trees and amber.

Fossilized trees are grey with withered leaves, and their trunks are full of a new type of grey wood. They also sometimes contain amber.

Fossilized forests are populated with the creepy stone gargoyles known as monoliths. They stalk you just like creepers from behind trees, except they don't blow up. They make up for this by being able to sink into the stone walls and floors to snatch you up when you aren't paying attention.
