Woolly / Sponge Boots

Regarding the Caves and Cliffs update sneak-peeks, this item of footwear would prevent you from making a sound as you walk, or maybe even run. They would either be made from wool, or from sponges (not as cheap). Durability would be extremely low, being on fire would destroy them and they might even take damage depending on how far you walk.

If mending is disabled, sponge boots would not be too easy an item to replenish. This is just one idea of a balanced mechanic to traverse the Deep Dark without alerting the Wardens.
