In the Minecraft Live footage of the new caves, the updated caves were lit up using ores, but they said that the ores being light sources was for demonstration purposes. The problem is that these caves would not be able to be admired in the pitch-black atmosphere of the underground, and monsters would not spawn.
My idea is that certain new or old blocks would be given a "glowing" or shiny property, illuminating these caverns, but also allowing for monster spawning.
This light would allow you to see the beauty of the newly updated caves, but also keep the danger of the underground expeditions that every Minecraft player knows. Maybe the glowing light would be visually distinctive from torch light and daylight.
Some ideas for blocks that could emit this shiny glow are sparkling diamond and emerald ores, the new amethyst crystals, or even the new Sculk.
I hope you liked my idea and consider it to be added. Thank you!
