    I loved your idea!
Its a perfect idea so we can make them as treasures in maps so you mine and find a pot and get the items from it or in survival you can use them as storage chests but designed so you put them on table in your base i realy loved your idea

They should spawn in structures instead of chests, like they do in Minecraft Dungeons

Pots should hold one item stack but have no inventory UI. You put items in by right clicking them on the pot or using hoppers or dispensors. You can remove items using hoppers or breaking the pot.

    The benefits are:
-unique function for redstone devices like item filters
-map makers can hide loot in smashables like an adventure game
-thematic function for decorative item in builds

i got a better idea: the pots should hold potions, it would be cool if they could store the volume of like 10 or more potions of a type. Then if you want to take some out you just rightclick with an empty bottle and get the potion, also they could add some small pixelart onto the pots to make each type of potion identifiable.

-Additionally barrels could get an added similar function so that people can choose wether they want to store liquid or items.

+ let hoppers interact with potions to make automatic brewing more compact and enjoyable
