Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Prevent Copper Oxidation

I love the idea that copper turns green over time, it's a really cool and beautiful mechanic.

I do also love the texture of the copper, and feel that there should be a way to keep it orange, so that that texture is usable without it changing.

    I think it should be like a polished variant. More expensive, but doesn't turn green over time.

    They could add tin and when mixed with copper, it would make bronze,which doesn't oxidate easily.

    Maybe you could stop the aging of the copper by rightclicking it with a slimeball (i.e. coating it). This would allow the player to preserve every age of copper they enjoy. Additionally magmaslime could be used to greatly accelerate the oxidation process.

    Similarly, In different dimensions -- and possibly even biomes -- the speed of oxidation could change. 

     

    In the End, I always thought it would have no atmosphere like it was a cluster of space debris, so it would be a cool mechanic if the oxidization process didn't occur in the dimension.

    Copper could only oxidize during rain, which keeps it orange in rain-free biomes. Or copper just doesn't oxidize in those biomes regardless, desert, badlands, etc.

    You could add berry juice or acid made from the new glow berries (sweet berries don’t seem like they would be acidic to me) and a bottle in a crafting table, similar to mushroom stew. You could use this On a copper block to prevent it from aging, kind of like how lemon juice prevents apples from turning brown irl. Alternatively, you could use it to clean the tarnish off, turning it back into the orange variant.

    I thought the same and I have an idea as to how we can do it.

    We have honeycomb (beeswax). We can take the copper block, put it in with the honeycomb in a crafting table, and get a version with wax on it that would not turn green.

    I also believe that if possible, we should be able to collect the copper blocks at the level of oxidization they have reached at that time. However, I do not know if this is possible.

    see as honey combs can be used as wax for candles i think honey combs should be able to be used to wax copper preventing oxidation
