The long-awaited caves and cliffs update has opened up the ability for new structures to be added to caves that would make the game much more interesting, especially since certain types of caves are much bigger. Something related to archaeology would be interesting, such as abandoned cave dwellings of cavemen (or "cave villagers"), where these abandoned caves can be excavated for players to find items such as stone tools and leather armor, for example. These abandoned cave dwellings could be found at large (or small) cave openings on the sides of mountains/cliffs, which would be a neat way to mix this new structure with the two themes of the update--caves and cliffs.
How would this add to the game? Since archaeology is new to Minecraft, adding archaeological sites that are more interesting than just digging through random blocks would make archaeology more exciting for players as while they excavate sites they can also explore new structures. In scenarios where the durability on player's tools are running low while mining, coming across one of these structures would be useful for getting tools. And maybe... if we're feeling extra innovative, cave paintings could be added which when excavated by players could also be added to pottery.
I think abandoned cave dwellings would be a great way to tie the new archaeology feature in with the cave and cliffs update and add a new structure to the game. Making other abandoned structures excavatable would also add to the archaeology aspect
