When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

Generator

Me and my friend have been brainstorming ideas about the new lightning rod that has been recently announced in Minecraft live 2020. My suggestion is that each time that the lightning rod gets struck by lightning it, either gets charged up or emits a redstone signal, either way it emits a powerful redstone signal that can charge up a block that my friend and I decide to call a generator that can emit a redstone signal that lasts for 5 seconds but the range is about 30 blocks. The generator can be crafted using a either by redstone dust (a wired generator) or crafted with the new shulk block (a wireless generator).

    If the generator gets charged by powered Redstone lines, then what does it have to do with the lightning rod? If you have to make it conditional with the lightning rod, there would need to be another variable to the already lag-inducing Redstone dust/lines, which would be impractical. Also, the name "generator" would be a misnomer. It doesn't generate power as much as accumulate and transmit it... so it would be like about every electronic component but a generator.
