While honey is a consumable item, clears poison and can be used in making honey blocks and sugar, I believe it can be useful in potion crafting.
Honey, when collected without the use of a campfire, angers any bees, causing them to attack the player. Honey has to be collected while keeping bees peaceful.
It would be interesting to be able to combine honey into a potion that makes commonly hostile mobs, peaceful for a certain period of time. It could persuade players to collect honey before a run to the Nether/End.
Honey just by itself may be overpowered, so the process of making a Peace Potion could be:
- x amount of water bottles are collected
-netherwart is added to make an awkward potion
-honey block is added to create the potion
-glowstone/redstone causes the potion to be extended/enhanced
I think having a potion of peace would be a really cool addition to Minecraft, which may allow players to venture out into the night, less afraid of mobs attacking and killing them, allow for easier collection of mob loot and as well as utilise the bee and honey related mechanics of Minecraft.
